Community of Learners Students at BretHarteSchool are challenged to embrace learning in an environment that is physically and emotionally nurturing while being intellectually inspired. Faculty and staff are challenged to foster a school community that works to enrich the education of all students and where parent participation is encouraged and embraced at all levels. Elementary Art All Bret Harte students receive art instruction as part of our visual arts program. The program focuses on a variety of techniques, art history, principles of design, drawing, and painting approaches. Student artwork fill the hallways at BretHarteSchool and parents and community members are treated to an annual Art Showcase that highlights students' art experiences.
