Welcome to Bret Harte Elementary School in the San Francisco Unified School District. My name is Vidrale Antoinette Franklin, and I am proud to be the principal of this wonderful neighborhood school.

This is my fifth year of dedicated service to the students, parents, and staff members at Bret Harte Elementary School. I have a strong elementary background - teaching first, third, fourth, and fifth grades. This is my 12th year in education having started my career here at BHES. I went on to receive a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of California Berkeley's Principal Leadership Institute (PLI) program and am currently a doctoral student at San Francisco State University.

Along with setting high educational standards for teaching and learning, I believe school should be a place where students and their families always feel welcome, comfortable, and safe. Every child should have the opportunity to learn in a stimulating environment where they can have a sense of belonging. I am dedicated to promoting mutual respect and building strong bonds and relationships with all members of our community.
